Site of the Revolutionary Fort and Frontier Outpost
Nestled in the heart of the historic Mohawk Valley overlooking the peaceful waters of the Mohawk River stands the rural homestead of the Lipe Family. This lovely Greek Revival home stands near the site of the original Revolutional War outpost.
Contained within the home are exhibits spanning the history of the Mohawk Valley. From prerevolutionary war indian artifacts to extensive memorabilia collected from the Erie Canal expansion period, this delightful museum offers something for everyone's interest.
While touring, stop by the gift shop or enjoy the picnic facilities. Walking tours and student tours are availalbe. Throughout the year, special programs, a lecture series, encampments and workshops are held.
